THE NEW HORIZON SCHOOL
NHS Motto
OUR MOTTO ‘TO EDUCATE TO REBUILD’
Signifies the noble ideal of bringing about positive changes in the individual to make him an instrument of progressive changes in the society thereby participating in the stupendous task of rebuilding the world of tomorrow.
Our idea is to deep root the child in his own cultural heritage and motivate him to absorb from outside influences only what is right and better for his personal excellence. The Management envisages the growth of the students as beacons of light and selfless and efficient service wherever they are.
NHS History
NHS—A Picturesque History
The concept of preparing individuals for a functional life became a reality on the 5th of September 2000 when our institution opened its portals in Salmaniya as the New Horizon Kindergarten to cater to 3 – 6 year age group with 7 students and 4 staff on the roll under the chairmanship of Mrs. Shamsiyya Yadulla Murad. The New Horizon Kindergarten grew in size demanding additional space to accommodate more than 120 children within 10 months. Within the span of another 2 years, the Management was forced to upgrade the institution to a school to train children between 3 & 12 years of age. In September 2003, the Ministry of Education upgraded the Kinder- garden into a Primary School for the 3 – 12 year age group.
The Management
Mr. Varghese Kurian, Chairman of the Al Namal group of companies and VKL Holdings is the Chairman of the New Horizon School W.L.L.. With a committed visionary at its helm, the school is set to realize its long cherished dreams of infrastructure development at the earliest.
The Management views education as a process to develop and actualize inherent human potentialities. The Governing Board acts as a facilitator for teachers and students to equip themselves to meet the rising demands of the educational trends of the time.
The Management intends to make this a model institution for Qualitative Learning and Value-oriented Grooming with a reasonable fee structure catering to the educational needs of the society that looks for an English medium instruction without uprooting the children from their mother tongues and traditional values.
