Bahrain’s Aquatic Landmark
Al Namal Contracting delivered the first World Aquatics-affiliated facility in the Middle East — an 18,456 m² world-class aquatic complex at the University of Technology Bahrain in Salmabad.
At its heart stand an Olympic 50-metre competition pool and a 5-metre-deep diving pool, backed by seating for 1,000 spectators and integrated facilities for elite coaching, sports science and high-performance athlete development. The accompanying retail hub, featuring shops and drive-through restaurants, is in its final stages of development.
Executed under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and in partnership with World Aquatics, the centre positions Bahrain as a new regional and global hub for aquatic excellence.
This is not just a pool complex.
It is the new benchmark for water sports in the Middle East.
