Engineering Excellence Without Compromise

Al Namal Contracting successfully delivered the GCC’s largest and possibly the world’s longest single-span PEB shed for Bahrain Steel BSC at Hidd. This monumental Design-Build structure measures 1,538 metres in length and 172 metres in clear width with no columns in between, providing a total shade cover area of approximately  265,000 m².

Rising to 41 metres in height with 15.42-metre bay spacing, the shed features a true column-free interior, 12 staircases (six on each side), continuous catwalks and guardrails. It is fully enveloped in 0.7 mm pre-painted aluminium corrugated panels, with the roof engineered to accommodate one of the region’s largest rooftop solar installations.

Executed in a highly constrained coastal environment immediately adjacent to the sea and directly over a fully operational industrial plant, the project demanded exceptional engineering precision. Extreme height, marine exposure and continuous production activities were managed without a single disruption to plant operations.

This is not just a shed.
It is a benchmark of capability under the most demanding industrial conditions.

A Milestone in Innovation

Beyond its impressive dimensions, this PEB Shed represents a leap forward in sustainable engineering. By creating a controlled environment, it reduces material waste and enhances operational efficiency, aligning with global sustainability goals. As we approach completion, this project not only bolsters Bahrain’s industrial landscape but also positions Al Namal as a leader in mega-scale construction.

We invite our clients, partners, and stakeholders to stay tuned for more updates. For inquiries about this project or our services, please contact us or visit our projects page.
